A week ago (Sept 12-14), Julie and I had our first visitors come to Boise. Brian and Alison came here from Columbus. I went college with Brian and he was the Best Man at our wedding. I met up with Brian on Friday afternoon and we had a few beers downtown while we waited for Alison to finish up at the conference she was here to attend.
On Saturday we drove north out of town to do at hike to a place called Blue Lake. It is nice that even into September you can still get some nice colors in the mountains.

This is group shot at Blue Lake.

After the Blue Lake hike, we did a short drive up to the top of the mountain road we were on. We got some 360 degree views at the top. I think the summit was called Snowbank Peak.

More Snowbank Peak views.

After our time in the mountains, we came back to Boise and went out to dinner in downtown. At dinner, we met up with Sharon and her boyfriend Scott. Sharon is another OU grad. I am glad that we did not go to a sports bar to watch the OSU v. USC game. Ouch.
On Sunday we went out to the wine growing region of Idaho to do some wine tasting. That was a lot of fun. Julie and I had never done a full day of wine tasting. I don't know why but we took no pictures of the wine tasting day.
We had lots of fun with Brian and Alison. It was nice to show some people around Boise.
