Special Olympics WInter World Games

I am going to be volunteering for the Special Olympics Winter World Games that will be held in Boise 2 weeks from now. I will be an Event Services Assistant for the speedskating competition. It should be fun and interesting. There are over 2400 athletes coming from over 100 countries. I read one article where some athletes from Egypt, UAE, Somalia, and India will be participating in the snowshoeing event. They have been practicing on sand in the desert and for most this will be the first time they have ever seen snow.

I am wearing the official volunteer coat. The scarf is handmade. Over 5o,ooo scarves were handmade from around the world for this event. All are made using the same color yarn, but are all different designs. In total there will be over 6000 volunteers.
