Part 3-Yellowstone N.P.

What would a trip to Yellowstone N.P. be without stopping to see the geysers. It was even more enjoyable when there is not the normal large amount of people who visit during the summer months. While we were at the Old Faithful area we did 4 mile hike in the geyser area. In addition to the geysers we saw elk, bison, two bison calves, coyote and the wolf Julie mentioned in the previous post. The video above was taken at Bee Hive Geyser. That geyser is very close to Old Faithful. Sorry the sound is not very good on this one. At the end of the video I am pointing at one of the hot spring pools.

Below is photo of Old Faithful. Julie and I did try to wait for Old Faithful to go off for a closer shot but it was a little cold and windy. But we still had a pretty good view.
Above is photo of one of the hot spring pools. These pools have such vivid yellow green and orange colors from the various little life forms growing in the hot sulfur water. It was also strange to see how close the bison had gotten to the pools and geysers. You could see hoof prints and bison piles almost right on top of these things.

The last video is of Castle Geyser. This one was erupting for about 20 minutes. People don't know its name because it is not "faithful."

Julie and I had a great trip. It is so cool to be within an easy drive to places like Grand Teton and Yellowstone.

Hope everyone is well.

Stix
