Seattle part I: Sights and Sounds of Pike Place Market

Michael and I went to Seattle this past weekend to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. Saturday was on and off rain... weather you would think to be typical for Seattle. We did some of the touristy things around downtown. Saturday we visited Pike Place Market.

Bunches of sunflowers... my favorite flower.

Pike Place Market is sensory overload. The day we visited was gloomy, so I think the colors of all of the flowers and fruit looked even more vibrant. In addition you had the smells of the bakeries, coffee, and fish. In the video below you will see and hear the famous fish mongers of Pike Place Market making a sale.

The scallops and lobster tails were the biggest I had ever seen.

Flower bouquets were for sale everywhere. I was amazed at the cheap prices. A healthy bunch of flowers could easily be found for $5. I guess if you live in Seattle you need flowers to counteract the numerous days of gloominess.

I was very mesmerized by the hanging pepper bunches.
