Fun with a new toy

Since I live close to actual mountains now, I thought it was time for me to get a mountain bike. So, I bought one this week. When I left work on Friday I had a goal. That was to not drive my car this weekend except going to church. There was two reasons for this goal. 1. price of gas 2. play with the new toy.

Yesterday, I went for short ride on some trails just north of downtown. These are some pictures.

After riding the trail I went into downtown before heading home. I did break down and use my car on Saturday. I went to the grocery, but the round trip was about 2 miles. However, I knew I would be purchasing more than I could carry.

After church today I went for another ride. This time I combined some errands with my ride. I went to the bike shop, the pet store, and a little farmer's market.

In summary, I love my new bike and in most cases I don't need to drive in order to get things done or have a great weekend.
