We did two hikes last Sunday. The first one was up to the top of Lizard Butte. The butte is about 25 miles away from Boise. The hike was about 1/2 mile to the top. Below is picture from the top. That is the Snake river in the background. We were just amazed how green everything was.

The neat thing about Lizard Butte is that every Easter one churches in the area holds a sunrise service at the butte. Below is the place where the service is held and a cross that sits on top of the butte.

After that hike, we started to drive to our next hike. We went to place in eastern Oregon called Lesile Gulch. We had to drive down some gravel roads and past some cows to get there. Take a look a the brand on the cow. I never knew my Dad owned a ranch.

The hike in Lesile Gulch was very nice. The only problem what that there was a lot of sage brush and Julie and I were wearing shorts. So, our legs got a little cut up. Also, we were about the only people on the trail. Below are some more pictures.
