Weekend in the Sawtooths

The picture above I think best sums up why we moved to Idaho. These are the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, about 150 miles from Boise. This past weekend we car camped by a lake in the Sawtooths and did a little hiking on our own.

One new camping gadget purchased this year is a little propane stove. We froze some chili before we left and just had to heat it up. Michael is very happy with his new stove.

This is Alturas Lake. Literally our campsite was maybe only 75 ft. from the shore.

The temperature at night was a bit chilly, but we liked having our "monster tent" for this trip. We hope to do another overnight trip over the 4th of July weekend although we may have difficulty finding a good campsite on a holiday. Camping on a holiday is a popular thing to do in Idaho.
