A day of snowshoeing

Yesterday Mike and I joined about 14 other people for about a 6 mile snowshoe hike. We had a great time meeting new people and getting out to play in the snow. We carpooled up to an area off Rt. 21 about 1 hour NE of Boise. There are many "park and ski" areas in which you can find numerous trail options. There is so much to explore in this area. There was even a few snow flurries coming down during the hike.

We are still waiting for more snow closer to Boise. The local ski area is not yet open. Snow is predicted this week in the foothills, so hopefully we will be skiing by Christmas. On Thursday night I went to a Christmas party for a women's hiking and mountain biking club. We did a hike prior to the party and came upon the house below decorated for Christmas. Every square inch was covered with lights. The back yard also had a huge lighted angel on a hillside.

Last Monday, we went to Mike's college friend Sharon's house for a little party. Sharon purchased a home in the north end of Boise and completely remodeled it using the green building techniques that her company promotes. The party was on Monday because one of the local television stations did a half hour show documenting the process. Her house is very nice.
