Merry Christmas

Today was our first Christmas in Boise. We tried to do many things that we had done in years past. We got up and opened our gifts while having a breakfast of cinnamon rolls. However, they could never hold a candle to the home baked ones we used to get from Beth, Mikes's sister-in-law. Then we went to mass. We called home and talked to our families. It was a nice sunny day, so we took a little walk along the Boise Greenbelt. Then we made our Christmas dinner. This included turkey and dressing with gravy (Julie's first ever attempt at making gravy) and some mashed sweet potatoes. Is your mouth watering?

We miss everyone. We hope that everyone had a great Christmas.

Wow, I've been so busy prepping for hosting Christmas gatherings at my house I've gotten behind on checking your site. Pics, as usual, are beautiful and are totally making me drool with ski envy! Congratulations on the offer on your house - I'd not heard that news yet. Funny story about your car being the only one with chains at the top of the mtn. Christmas morning was delightful with Ruby & Zoey. One of the great things about Christmas day was, Jennie. Other than Mom & Dad, she was the 1st to arrive and the last to leave. She was her true self, at ease and so happy to see everyone. She took tons of pictures and even got everyone's email addresses... she knows she's always welcome and it warms my heart that she sees the big picture and knows the truths. My day, although chaotic, filled me with peace and gratitude...for having persevered to push to get the girls and I out. Family is not something I take for granted...we have a pretty incredible group (and the two in Boise were really missed). Mom, was Mom...reminding me of what we needed to do next with the turkey AND thank goodness, didn't bat an eye when I told her I didn't want to attempt the gravy. KUDOS to you, Julie!

Well, it's quite late and I need to finish a couple things before getting to bed. We'll be having the Bohl Christmas here on Sunday. So, if we don't hear from you...we'll call you!

Much Love, Julia
