Making New Friends

Julie and I both had this past Monday off from work. This likely is the last weekday I will have off for some time. So, we went skiing at Bogus Basin. The day was great. Clear blue sky and it was not all that cold. The resort was not very crowed at all. That was the one of the very best parts. At one point during the day I had stopped to wait for Julie. She skis up next to me and says "Do you ever just stop and think that we actually live here?" I told her yes that thought has come to me more than a few times.

Julie and I have been trying to get out meet new people here in Boise. Also, we are trying to find people who share our interests so they can show us the good places to go and do things such as snowshoe. So, last week we joined a club here call Idaho Mountain Recreation. This weekend I went on one of their day trips. The bad part was Julie had to work this weekend. We went snowshoeing at a place called Banner Ridge. There was a group of 11 including myself. The snowshoeing was very fun. We went out for 6.5 miles according to one person's GPS unit. There was not nearly as much trail breaking as last week. The only time we did that was when we got off the main trails and made our own. I met some really nice and interesting people. In fact, the trip leader named Peggy is a native of Huron, Ohio. She told me that she has lived in Boise since '92. How is that for a small world.

Below are some pictures from the trip.
