Well now that tax season and moving is over, I got to get out have some fun this weekend. Yesterday, I did another hike with the outdoor club that Julie and I belong to. Julie was not able to come, she had to work. That was the only down side. I went with two other people to the Craters of the Moon National Monument. In short, Crater is a very large lava field. Here is a link to the park's
website if you want more info. We did an eight mile hike to the highest point there called Big Cinder Butte. The hike was fun and the views on top were just great. Here are some pictures and a video showing the 360 view. You may not be able to hear me talking in the video. But, you can hear how windy it was on top.

After the summit, we hiked down through a snow field and then over a lava field. Here are some pictures of the decent and some cool colored lava rocks. The guy in the decent picture is the trip leader Brent.

I am not sure if the blue color or the lava rock really shows up as bright as it actually was.
Today after church, Julie and I went for a bike ride out to the Lucky Peak dam. This dam is at the far eastern end of Boise's Greenbelt (bike path). The round trip ride was about 22 miles from our house. The weather both today and yesterday was sunny and warm. It was not even that cold on top of Big Cinder Butte.
Lastly, tonight after dinner we took Abby for a little walk along the river. Here is a picture.

What a great weekend. A weekend like this is one of the big reasons why I moved to Boise.
