You may not know but a woman from Boise won a gold medal at the Olympics. Her name is Kristin Armstrong and she won the cycling time trial. She is the first person from Boise to ever win a gold medal. She used to work at the Boise YMCA. In fact, she used to teach spinning.Today the city gave her a big welcome home. I had nothing big going on so I went down there. I would say a little over 1,000 people were there. It was really neat. It is nice to see my new home city do something this nice for one of its own.
They also did a little fun ride in her honor. I rode my bike to the end point but did not do the actual fun ride. Here is video of the ride.
